About the Event

The Grand Master is looking for motivated Members who wish to travel to local Lodges and present information that will educate, motovate and inspire Lodges to be successful to the Members and in the community.  Below you will find the Job Discriptions for Masonic Educators and Membership Liaisons.  The good news is you can be both if you like.  If you think you are ready for a challange in your Masonic journey, submit your information  and a Grand Lodge officer will contact you for an interview and explain more fully the responsibilities of the position.  

Job Title: District Membership Liaison

Reports To: Membership Committee Chairman, Junior Grand Warden, and Junior Grand Deacon

Job Summary: Provide Membership program information to Lodges and members within the applicable District

Job Duties:

1 Promote Membership Recruitment to Lodges:

    a. conduct at least 24 Membership presentations annually;

    b. promote use of the Grand Lodge’s current Membership Recruitment program; and

    c. remind Lodges that memorization of the First Lecture for each degree is not required under the Blue Book of   Masonic Law.

2 Promote Membership Retention Strategies:

    a. present Membership retention strategies to Lodges during presentations, using the following tools:

         i. get Members active in the lodge by assigning them duties; and

         ii. monthly Short Talk bulletins (should be mailed to the WM beginning in second quarter).

         iii. Promote Sections of the Travelers Journey Document that apply

3 Promote Membership Restoration Strategies:

    a. NPD Restoration program as described in the Blue Book (49.020 (e))

4 Monthly Reporting:

    a. provide a report monthly of activities conducted;

    b. communicate issues observed in Lodges to the Membership Chairman, Junior Grand Warden or Junior Grand Deacon; and

    c. participate in monthly conference call.

    d. Review Sections of the Travelers Journey Document and make recommendations for revisions and updates

5 Promote programs of the Grand Master and Grand Lodge as communicated

6 Suggested and Required Events to be attended

    a. Founders Day

    b. Annual Communication

    c. Area Conferences within your District

    d. Scheduled Workshops reviewing the Grand Masters Agenda & Directives

    e. Memorial Services

7 Promote District Educators and Ritual Instructors

    a. Provide business cards with contact information

Job Title: District Masonic Educator (DME)

Reports To: Junior Grand Warden and Senior Grand Deacon

Job Summary: Conduct Masonic Education presentations to Lodges and members within the applicable 

District with a focus on the “Traveler’s Journey” document.

Job Duties:

1 Traveler’s Journey presentation:

    a.  conduct at least 24 Masonic Education “Traveler’s Journey” presentations annually in your 

          district; consequently, if we have 3 DMS’s in a district, then we would like to have each DME 

          conduct at least 8 annually.

    b. promote use of the Traveler’s Journey document by Lodges and members;

2 Other Masonic Education Presentations:

    a. serve as a resource for the Lodges in your district for referral for other Masonic Education 

        presentations using various resources, such as:

         i. monthly Lodge Leadership Notes;

         ii. monthly Short Talk bulletins (should be mailed to the WM beginning in second quarter); and

         iii. other Masonic Education resources (Grand Lodge web-site, etc.).

3 Monthly Reporting:

    a. provide a report monthly of activities conducted;

    b. communicate issues observed in Lodges to the Junior Grand Warden or Senior Grand Deacon; and

    c. participate in monthly conference call.

4 Promote Grand Master’s programs as communicated

5  Suggested and Required Events to be attended

    a. Founders Day

    b. Annual Communication

    c. Area Conferences within your District

    d. Scheduled Workshops reviewing the Grand Masters Agenda & Directives

6  Promote District Membership Liaisons and Ritual Instructors

    a. Provide business cards with contact information (Provided by the GL

        Office)
